ABOUT ME
I’m Gabriel Alves, a multidisciplinary artist and creative leader with over 18 years of experience in visual storytelling, art direction, and creative development across a variety of industries, including gaming, animation, design, and comics. Originally from Brazil, my career has been driven by a lifelong passion for creativity and a commitment to delivering high-quality, immersive visual experiences.
I began my professional journey with a degree in Graphic Design, evolving from a freelance illustrator to a studio owner, art director, and team leader. As the founder of GA Studio, I led the creation of over 25 institutional comics, translating complex technical content into clear, engaging narratives, which resulted in over 1 million units printed and a client base that included some of Brazil's largest companies.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked on projects that have garnered international recognition. In 2013, I was part of the team that won Best Movie at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival for the animated feature Uma História de Amor e Furia (A Story of Love and Fury). Additionally, my work in game development earned accolades, with titles like Mr. Bree and Jelly Escape winning Best Art and Best Game awards at festivals such as SB Games and BIG Festival.
Currently, as a Lead Artist at Arrow International, I continue to channel my passion for creating compelling visual experiences, leading art teams to deliver exceptional game art. I bring extensive expertise in art direction, team leadership, and collaborative project management, ensuring that every project is executed with a cohesive, impactful creative vision.
My technical skill set spans across Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling, 2D animation, and project management tools, allowing me to manage creative workflows from concept to execution. I am constantly seeking new challenges that push the boundaries of visual storytelling, inspire innovation, and elevate the projects I work on.
